From Shadow's foster Mom. Shadow came into my life by accident—he was part of an unplanned litter. One day, I was talking to a neighbor about how much I loved his wandering dog, and he mentioned he had three puppies in his backyard. Curious, I went to see them. He explained they were the result of an accidental breeding and that he couldn’t afford to feed or care for them. I brought some food on my next visit, but when I saw Shadow, I couldn’t leave him behind. He was flea-ridden, bloated, and in need of care.
He has since been to a Vet and is now a healthy little boy.
Because I work 12+ hour shifts, Shadow stays in a crate all day, but he’s well-behaved—never pees or poops inside. He’s a confident little terrier mix, and while his mom is a tiny, sweet, smooth-haired dog named Cupcake, his dad is around 15-18 lbs. Both parents are affectionate, and I believe Shadow will be smaller than his dad.
Shadow is a wonderful companion—well-behaved, playful, and affectionate. He gets along great with my two cat sisters and even tries to play with them. His dad often comes by to visit and play, and he adores my neighbor’s 9-year-old son.
He’s been one of the best puppies I’ve ever raised in my 50+ years of rescue work. Unfortunately, I can’t give him the life he deserves, and it wouldn’t be fair to keep him. Shadow needs a family or a person with a better schedule and lots of love to give. He’s easy to care for and would make a fantastic addition to a caring home.
