Meet Oddie!

Oddie didn’t understand what was happening, only that the life he knew suddenly disappeared. After living in a home for some time, Oddie was dumped for a new dog when that dog began fighting with him. Instead of protecting Oddie or giving him time, his owner chose the other dog. A call was made asking us to take Oddie, and our director explained we were overwhelmed but would post him and try to find a foster or a new home. Just two hours later, Oddie was abandoned. Confused and scared, Oddie somehow found his way onto our property, seeking safety and something familiar. He was left behind by the person he trusted, replaced, discarded, and left wondering what he did wrong. Oddie is a true gentle giant. At 90 pounds, he may look big and strong, but his heart is soft, loving, and loyal. He is people-oriented, affectionate, and wants nothing more than to belong. He did not cause the fighting, he simply didn’t get chosen.

Oddie didn’t fail his home. His home failed him.
