*Meet Henley*
Henley is a calm and gentle soul, neutered and up to date on all his vaccinations. He loves being petted but doesn’t jump for attention, exuding a relaxed and affectionate demeanor. He excels at walking on a leash and enjoys being an indoor companion as well as spending time outdoors with people, whether on a leash or in a yard. Henley's rescue story began at a gas station where a now volunteer spotted him. She reports, "He approached me, but I noticed he was emaciated and had ticks. Initially thinking he was blind, I later discovered he wasn’t. Despite my sister’s dog not liking him, I couldn’t leave him behind and took it upon myself to provide him with food and water. A police officer informed me that the pup had been roaming the area for two weeks and that he’d been hit by a drunk driver recently, which explained his fear of cars. Over two emotional days, I couldn’t shake the worry for his safety, especially with my own dogs intimidating him. After contacting numerous shelters and vets, only Summits responded. Once settled, he enjoyed a ride with me, filling my heart with joy. I cried when I left him, prompting me to volunteer and ensure he knew he was loved. Now, he’s the sweetest boy and truly loves his car rides!"
